In short: Car Tracer is a web app you install from this site and which, once installed, runs on your phone without a connection. Everything you record stays there, not on servers of ours. Buying Pro gives you a licence to use version 1, with a single payment and no subscription. And since we keep no copy of anything, backups are on you: if you lose the phone without having exported, there is no copy anywhere that we could give you.

Using the app means you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, simply do not use it.
A progressive web app (PWA) for keeping the maintenance history of your vehicles: services performed, mileage, documents and paperwork reminders.
It asks for no account, and once installed it works without a connection. Car Tracer is a web app: the first time you need internet to open cartracer.com.mx and install it on your device. From then on it opens and works with no signal, because everything you record is stored in the space the browser sets aside for this app. It is not sent to any server and we have no way to look at it. The details are in the Privacy Policy.
The free version is functional and does not expire. It has limits on the number of vehicles, service types, documents and alerts; the exact figures are on the pricing page and inside the app.
Pro is a one-time payment, not a subscription. There are no renewals and no recurring charges. When you buy it you receive a license key by email, which you use to activate the app on your personal devices.
The license is for personal use. Reselling it, sharing it publicly or distributing it is not permitted.
The license covers two devices at a time. It is not a limit on how many times you can activate: if you activate on a third one, the oldest gives up its place automatically and you do not have to do anything.
Because the app has no user accounts, a device's registration lives in its browser. Clearing the site data or switching phones loses it, and getting it back means pasting your key again — the place that device held is recycled on its own. So the only thing worth keeping is the key that was emailed to you when you bought.
Everything below refers to version 1 of Car Tracer — versions 1.0, 1.1, 1.2 and any that follow within that series — which is the scope of what you are buying:
If a version 2.0 with substantially new features ever exists, Pro holders will get a preferential upgrade price. Never full price.
This is the most important part of these terms, because it follows directly from the app not using servers.
We hold no copy of your data. It lives only on the device where you use the app. If you lose the phone, reset it, clear your browser data or uninstall the app without having exported a backup, that information cannot be recovered — not by you and not by us.
The app includes an export feature that downloads everything to a file. Making and keeping those backups is your responsibility. We recommend exporting regularly and storing the file somewhere other than the phone.
The browser may also evict your data if the device runs out of space. The app requests persistent storage to reduce that risk, but the final decision belongs to the browser and the operating system, not to us.
What you record is stored in the private space the browser reserves for this app, exclusive to our domain. No other site, third-party cookie or ad can read it, and the app loads no code from anyone else.
This does not replace your device screen lock: whoever holds your unlocked phone can open the app, just as they can open your photo gallery.
The license is for using the app, not for reselling it, sharing it publicly or distributing it. Nor for attempting to bypass the license checks, altering the app to unlock paid features, or using it for unlawful purposes.
If any of these terms are breached, we reserve the right to revoke access to the Pro features, with or without prior notice depending on the severity, and without that giving rise to a refund. Your data remains yours and on your device: the free app keeps working and you can export everything whenever you want.
Before it comes to that we would rather write to you. If you think there has been a mistake, reply to info@cartracer.com.mx and we will look into it.
Payment is processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as merchant of record for the sale and issues the receipt. That is why the charge appears on your statement under their name and not ours, and why your card details go to them: they are never seen or stored here.
You may request a full refund within 30 calendar days of purchase by writing to info@cartracer.com.mx. You do not need to explain why. Once the refund is processed, the Pro license stops being valid.
Since the app can be used for free before buying, we suggest trying it first.
Once installed, the app works offline: it will keep opening and saving on your device even if the site is temporarily unavailable.
What does depend on the site is installing it, or installing it again. If you uninstall the app and want it back, you have to visit cartracer.com.mx again. Your data stays on the device as long as you do not clear the site data in your browser, and in any case the file backup is what puts it beyond all of that.
Activating the license does require a connection the first time and periodically after that. If that service were ever discontinued, we would publish an alternative activation method in advance for existing customers.
Car Tracer is a record-keeping tool. It does not replace a mechanic's judgement or your vehicle manufacturer's recommendations. The service intervals it ships with are general references; your car's manual takes precedence over any value suggested here.
Reminders are shown when you open the app. Car Tracer does not send notifications while the app is closed: there are no servers to send them. If you want them to reach you without opening the app, you can export your reminders to your calendar, and from then on it is your calendar giving you the notice, not us.
Reminders also depend on the data you entered. We cannot guarantee you will see every one in time, so do not rely on them alone for deadline-bound paperwork.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the license.
We reserve the right to update these terms when the app changes or the law requires it. The last updated date always appears at the top of this page, and relevant changes are announced in the changelog.
Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the new terms. If you disagree with a change, you can stop using it and export your data at any time: it is yours and it is on your device.
No later change will reduce what a Pro license already included when it was bought.
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Mexican States. For any dispute, the parties submit to the competent courts of Mexico City, without prejudice to the consumer protection rights available to you in your place of residence.
